Q. What is a Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant? A. Holistic nutrition focuses on natural dietary aspects and the individual as a whole. This includes all aspects of an individual's life, including their physical, mental and emotional well being. Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultants (C.H.N.C) aim to educate the public on the origin of their food and the healing properties that whole foods can have on the body. The goal of the C.H.N.C is to empower individuals to make healthy food choices to improve their health. Holistic nutrition focuses on a proper balance of protein, vitamins, minerals and other key nutrients for optimum health, which can lead to improved energy levels, emotional well-being and the ability to fight illness.
Q. Do you recommend supplements to clients?
A. In the polluted world we live in today, the food we eat has become stripped of many essential nutrients making it hard for our bodies to function in optimal health. Vitamins and supplements can be very important for people whose bodies are under stress and illness. I strongly feel that there is a time and a place for supplements. I recommend good quality supplements specific to my clients individual and unique needs. Some clients need to take more supplements, some less. Supplements however, are not a replacement for a nourishing, whole food diet. They should be used in addition to a healthy diet to help bring balance to the body, and should change as your body's needs change.
Q. I have been struggling to conceive. Can you help me?
A. The work I do with my clients goes beyond just suggesting what kinds of foods they should be eating. When you work with me we work on the entire body, mind and spirit to bring your entire being back into balance. Whether or not I can help you depends on your willingness to be open to trying a different way of coming back into health and alignment. I will guide, support and educate you but it is YOU that has to do the work. Working with me is not a 100% guarantee that you will get pregnant. No one knows the future. But I know that I can help bring you back to yourself and your greatest health and as close as possible to conceiving a child.
Q. Why is the Making Babies Fertility Program 4 months long?
A. I have found that there is not enough time or personal connection that can be made in a one time consultation. There is quite often a lot of work that has to be done to get a person back to their best health which cannot be done in an hour. There is too much educating that needs to be done for a client to grasp what is going on in their body in a single hour. My clients often come to me after they have tried everything. Change takes time and that is why we work together for 4 months, so that this change can occur.
It also takes about 90 days for an egg to mature so it is important clients prepare their bodies for at least three months prior to conception to create the healthiest and most viable egg possible. Working with a client for an extended period of time in the Making Babies Fertility Program is the best option for my clients because they get a full education and understanding of their body and what may be holding them back from getting pregnant. There are no quick fixes, but working together for 4 months can really help to change a clients life.
Q. How much personal attention will I get from you in the Making Babies Fertility Program?
A. The beautiful thing about the Making Babies Fertility Program is that you have unlimited access to me. I am here to support and guide you so if you have a question, don't hesitate to send me an email. I usually respond within 24 hours. There are no extra charges. It is so important to me that you feel loved and supported throughout your journey. I also only work with a small amount of clients at a time so that I can give my full attention and support to my clients. There is nothing worse than paying money, investing your time and feeling that you are not important, special or significant to the person you are working with.
Q. What advice can you give someone struggling to make healthier choices?
A. Take it one step at a time. Don't run out and try to overhaul your diet in a night. Your bad habits will come back and you will feel frustrated. Each time you run out of something, either don't buy it again, or replace it with the healthier version of that food (example: exchange white rice for brown, potato chips for kale chips, cow's milk for plant based milk). And don't be too hard on yourself. NO ONE eats healthy all the time. No one. Try to eat good, nourishing whole foods you prepare yourself at least 80% of the time and your body and spirit will be happy.
